The problem I have is squaring up projections and seeming “statements of fact” from pilots vs. management. Either one side is right, or the ball comes down somewhere in the middle. I really want to be able to recommend Envoy, but the conflicting information makes that difficult. I’ve enjoyed my time here (not every minute of it, granted), and I want to be able to provide reasonably accurate information to those who ask me about the airline.

A friend who might qualify for the $45k bonus just received a new info sheet from Envoy. It indicates:
- LGA 145 Captain to start
- Ability to base transfer to ORD, MIA, and DFW in 3, 6, and 12 months respectively
- Approx. 5.5 year flow
- Lays our years 1-7 comp with the $45k and years 5-7 at AA

So, is management literally blowing smoke??? Or is this another Charlie Bucket situation where we all think it’s impossible and then it comes true. Hard to tell I guess...only hindsight will tell the story.
I think it’s management blowing smoke. Only thing there that seems likely is the first one. I mean, I’d LOVE it to be true because I’d be flowing so soon I might as well pull up my apps and relax. But something drastic would have to change, perhaps a lot of seperate drastic things would have to change, before the middles two can happen. And the last one is probably vastly effected by third projection such that’s it’s greatly inflated.

BTW, I’ve liked working here too and if the someone thinks coming here is right for them, great. It’s actually good for me in that it’s one more junior captain to me when I upgrade. However, I think it’s unfair to try to get someone to make a life changing decision under false pretence. If managment/recruiting really is using those data points, they need to be called out on it.
