All engineers are professional engineers, no cross training for that seat. Yes if you moved to the area you would be home some of the days during the rotation, but you have two hours to have the plane in the air from the time of your callout. and you are on call 24/6. Whatever airframe you go to that is where you will stay until either you get tired of their crap and move on or they park the particular fleet for good then you will be furloughed. also, don't think you can get a foot in the door at Charters2 then go to Kalitta Air it will never happen.
I shouldn't have to say this but I will, this should be an absolute last resort choice of employer.
ps I am no longer employed there walked away 7 months ago for a much better company.
