The vast majority don’t have hot mic and when I fly those that do have it, most of the time the CA doesn’t use it.

I’ve been using the Clarity Aloft for all my time on the 737 and it’s, IMHO, the best of a lot of worlds. Very small footprint for my bag, incredibly light, the passive NR is very good and it’s easily manageable should I need to keep my left ear free for yelling, I mean regular comms, with the CA, and it’s perfect for use with any kind of eye/sunglasses. I say all of this after having used the Bose X for the better part of 7 years.
