I flew the E175 at Mesa prior to Southern and would not go back. On paper it looks like Envoy may be the best option if I'm looking for PIC time immediately, and would like to be eventually based at home. Anyone know any direct entry captains who recently joined Envoy, or new hire FO's?

I turned down an interview with Southern for the B777. With the crappy pay and nine years to upgrade, it seemed like a miserable tenure to be had by all, not to mention the Atlas factor.
What others have said about being forced to LGA Capt on reserve for the foreseeable future is what I'm hearing too.
Assuming you have a degree and no skeletons in your closet, I’d tough it out where you’re at. The heavy time will make you more marketable than flying an rj and you should be able to get scooped up by a major sooner than later.
