Holiday pay! It probably costs something, but huge QOL gain for everyone; either getting more money or getting off the days you want. I think time and a half would be enough to do the trick. My understanding is FAs already get it so it's not like it is something foreign to management.
I also think we should cost out the per diem cost relative to hourly rates and take our raise there sobe it is tax free. How about a housing allowance too? Same concept of costing it from hourly rate
Housing allowances are taxed as ordinary income. Only the military gets that tax free. Per Diem can only go up a small amount before it’s taxed. A reserve pilot who does not fly much may not like the concept. Same for a pilot on sick leave. In addition it’s not pensionable or eligible for profit sharing so you lose 30% give or take before the tax break.
