“Well SWA wasn’t in negotiations in 2017, and also had a much higher hourly rate, so yes...if you were making $216 an hour for the majority of 2017 and ended up with that on your W2 you were undermining our negotiating committee by flying tons of premium. Trust me, BM wishes we had more like you on the line.”

“It is not a “mine is bigger than yours” contest MEA. I have been at Alaska longer than you. I have been a captain longer than you. Until Nov 2017 making more than 200K a year required substantial degradation in quality of life and time off. Something I never did. We have been in a continuous, contentious negotiating cycle since 2005. SWA has not. Making honest and accurate comparisons between work groups is much more beneficial to us all.”
My whole career people have been telling me when I can and can’t make money. Well to be honest they have always only told me “that I can’t, not now, one day though”. I couldn’t when I got hired, I couldn’t after Kasher, I could never as an FO... I can’t now? They tell me soon it will be your turn, just wait, we all have to pay our dues son. Wait for what? Tell your conscience tells you that I am finally ok to have a good career. You must commute and because you choose to do that I must not make anymore then you. I shouldn’t find any good deals and should let someone else have them if I do. I am not working hard I promise, but I am taking home a pretty nice check. The union undermined my career when they pushed through age 65, didn’t stand up when companies were dissolving pensions. Oh I know their hands were tied they had let it all happen. What is D Worthless doing these days. What are the noble union leaders of yesterday at ALK doing these days? Oh that’s right they are stepping all over my career to try to steal more. I will fly 75 this month... sorry guys. I am just working flying the contract so don’t try and shame me with all your nobility.
