The company brought on over 100 pilots over what they needed to hire last year. The 700s are all on property and they all weren’t supposed to be yet. The company staffed well. I think its just a short break while Delta figures out where the other planes are coming from. They keep on saying they only want 3 DC carriers.
Sometimes, recruitment teams are allowed to take a break. We’re not hemorrhaging pilots, so let those guys and gals catch their breath. We still offer the best QOL, best pal, only DGI...pulling back on hiring doesn’t mean we need to sound the alarms.
I for one am proud of the work the team is doing.
And, to the 12 month spool up...not sure that’s the case here. We were close - real close - in ‘16. That was before my time, but I’m told we were entering the proverbial 11th hour. No reason to think we can’t get that cleared for takeoff quickly.
