While she did not file a police report, she did tell the company & union. We have all been a new hire early in our 121 career at one point. Even the most cynical had a little cool-aid in them and it is easy to believe the company & union are there to help you. If they say, "don't speak to anyone about this to protect our brand" I can see a new hire doing just that.
To me, that is my biggest concern is that someone from Alaska told her that. I can see that for company policy offenses, but if a crime has been committed they need to get law enforcement involved. Hopefully, this will be a watershed moment and airline HR & legal departments will revise their policies.
