I understand that retirees put in a lot of work for the company during their tenure but it's incredibly frustrating to be trying to go to work only to have the jumpseat occupied and the cabin filled with everyone but you because you weren't high enough on the standby list.
I was once in a position to help a retiree get on a flight by taking the jumpseat but after hearing him complain to his friend about the flight benefits of subsidiaries, do you think I did that? No. Am I a better person for it? No. Is this the type of environment that the sentiment that we at Endeavor don't deserve as much as mainline employees even though we fly 800+ Delta Connection flights a day to feed mainline? Yes.
as a former regional guy, the sooner you realize you are a subcontractor the better. I get that you have to get to work, I was a commuter at the regionals too. That being said, a subcontractor should never get priority over a mainline employee on mainline metal.
