Has anyone heard of anyone using the internship to leave service 6 months early and start with an airline?

Just curious how airlines would treat it since you're only allowed to collect your military check while doing the program. I am currently a year and a half from being able to take terminal leave, but thought getting an extra couple months to get thru training, etc would be nice.
