So in the simplest terms: If you are not legal for your next pairing, it's not your problem.

Crew scheduling will need to drop or repair the conflicting trip. Either way you are pay protected and it doesn't matter if it's a FAR or UPA issue.
i agree 100%... but I do believe that you are not protected on a DH deviation... that is treated as a normal commute... so if you are out of place because you deviated on another flight the company is not responsible if things go south. I'll have to dig into the new LOA and UPA again but believe this is the case... DH deviations have risk.
