My understanding is that you take the captain pay listed on APC and divide it in half. I.E. A first year Captain makes $50,000. A part time first year Captain makes $25,000.

Almost positive there are no benefits for a part timer.
I flew with a part timer just before I left PlaneSense. We talked about it in detail however, I don't recall everything.

I believe that you are offered benefits but you will pay more for them. You are correct about the pay. They make 50% of what a full time pilot makes and your seniority is cut in half as well. IE, you work part time for 10 years, you'll be equal with someone who has been there for 5 years full time.

The part time guys are still offered overtime but you're last in line to be offered. This really isn't limiting though. For 2017, a part time captain flew the most legs and was 2nd most in hours. There is absolutely no reason to be full time if you're a PSM based captain and frankly, I'm surprised more people don't do it. All you need to do is work a 8 day cycle, work 3 OT days in your 20 days off and boom... you're making full time pay.
