Many people have chosen ATI as a "true career path". They've been around since the late 70's, much longer than the regionals. There's been tough times and good times, but that's no different from any other airline in the world.
I can't speak for all the pilots hired within the last two years, but most ATI pilots love the schedule. Go to work 13 times a year, get a two week vacation every month. Sure, ATI has night flights, but so does UPS and FedEx. There is also plenty of daytime flying with Amazon. If a person doesn't like nighttime flying, well don't apply at a cargo airline.

ATI pilots don't have the same toxic relationship with mgmt like ATLAS and ABX does. Pretty much a stress free environment and easy flying. Every pilot I know stays at ATI because they choose to stay at ATI and enjoy a great QOL.
