There is nothing wrong with it at all. When our management starts screwing with us like TSA, Mesa and now AWAC, I may have a different opinion. Our OC had Alaska airline pilots show up to promote ALPA. Then they tell me how the year after they took pay cuts that the company made record profits. After that, the pilots ask for some of the concessions back. Guess what management said???

When our management starts the bs that all of the ALPA carriers are going through, then I will consider voting in a union. I don't think a union is going to do us any good. I can't stress enough that I don't fear for my job or that I think someone is out to screw me. That is all I hear from ALPA guys, "YOU NEED PROTECTION!!!" Ok??? Protection from what?

Airsupport, when you get a better contract than what we have at SkyWest, I will be more than happy to eat my words and congratulate you. However, you telling me that is about the same as someone telling me that Mesa or Trans States is going to "raise the bar" and have some decent work rules as well. I hate being negative. The idea of a national union, which ALPA was founded upon, is a great idea. However, the idea will NEVER be a reality. And I blame gojet, skybus and other people who goes to those companies for that. So ... happy to call themselves an airline pilot that they practically fly them for free. What d bags.

It is going to take a strike for the legacies to get back what they lost. No regional is going to get better until the legacies lead the way. Without a union, how much happier is SkyWest than the vast majority of other regionals? The ONLY company the ALPA supporters and OC has ever compared us to is XJET. 1 out of how many?
