I’m not forcing my career on anyone. I would bet most Swift Air captains don’t even realize they are being paid half what a major 737 first officer is being paid. I guess ignorance is bliss. The pay difference is enormous.
I worked at an ACMI for a long time. We always thought we had it pretty good. I made the move to a major. Leaving the left seat for the right once again thinking it'll take a while to make up the difference in pay, qol, etc.
1st day in class and it was clear how much I wasn't getting at an ACMI. I made up for the pay by 2nd yr. Worked fewer days also.
Work at a major is super easy. Still miss the good crews and places we went in the ACMI world but it sure was a lot of work
