Idk why you guys are up in arms about the long training like someone said before go on a trip or go home and relax just leave your phone on. Hotels are slightly better but still suck. More junior assignments but you can say no if you have something to do just have a backbone. And no 4 hr sits but definitely a handful of 3 and 4 hr sits but not as bad as last year.
Or, just don’t answer the phone for junior assignments when the company calls. I know one guy that has the company blocked on his iPhone and only listens to the messages after they call.
The struggle with training has been we haven’t grown the staff on the line, only the number of aircraft. It isn’t for a lack of candidates, it is because our training department lacked foresight and planning. Then, we sat 4 airplanes because of a lack of pilots. United can’t be happy with that.
Anyway, I am looking forward to Havana flights. There. That is something positive.
