Question for the masses here.
I've got a buddy trying to get on with Delta (and apps in elsewhere...but really wants Delta). Former Navy fighter guy who now flies contract work for the DoD. Current and qualified on 2 different aircraft with 150+ hours in the past year. Class 1. ATP. Etc...etc... etc... I've written him a rec and sent the email into Delta Hiring. Had the app in for about a year. Crickets so far...
I'm wondering if one thing that may be working against him is his age. He's in his early 50's.
Anybody know if Delta has a cutoff for age? Or if it is hurting him to the point where he's just wasting his time trying to get on with a major airline at this point.

They cannot discriminate against him for age. NWA and probably some others had EEOC judgements against them quite some time ago and no airline can discriminate for age (among other things)
