As a counter punch to on-time performance, you have to take into account our executive management's ineptitude in negotiations with maintenance for a new contract. Hard to be on-time when airplanes aren't released from maintenance on the first flight of the day until departure time, or when airplanes don't get to the gate from the hangar until departure time. How about when you're in a mx base and you're number 3 in the queue and it takes 2 hours to get a simple deferral for a broken seat back. I can say that no flight of mine has been delayed because the crew wasn't where they were supposed to be.
