it was worse when we were getting “delayed 20 minutes, please make a pa” acars messages on the take off roll. That was dangerous. Thankfully they fixed those. The 10 minute messages are just a delightful nuisance in comparison.

There's a difference between finishing super late in NYC and trying to catch the 6am home, and using the rest room as a crashpad. I'd imagine part of it is liability and safety of having people in overnight, but there's a balance.
Cobase isn't the problem, schedulers are. Only airline with an NYC hub that doesn't have a cobase is republic and soon to be Skywest. Now if they try to add EWR into the mix...
