It's a great benefit. It will all be handled through NuCompass. There are some gotchas though. The employee moving handbook is pretty self explanatory but your case manager may have his/her interpretation.
You get up to 7 days paid in a hotel while you wait for your stuff. Our stuff took 14 days to be delivered. We broke up the days hotel-family-hotel. The handbook mentions 7 days, initial call with a NuCompass manager the above was reiterated. The case worker interpreted as 7 consecutive nights with a dollar limit ($120/per night), a tough order in the Bay Area. We were stuck with the bill on the second stay (within the 7 nights).
Car rental has a dollar limit too. Asked if insurance was covered up to their dollar limit. Was told yes. When we submitted the charge only the rate was reimbursed. The case manager's interpretation was only the rate and sales tax was covered, not insurance or one way special charges.
Overall it was a great experience. Pretty painless and well organized. Just try and get some of the benefits spelled out in writing from NuCompass in case there is some debate on what the intent is.
