That's great for you, but there are a lot of people in the world who would not feel comfortable intervening. Look at that American Airlines video of the passenger and FA fighting with the CA awkwardly standing there. Sure it is not the same thing but it shows how some people can't take decisive action in stressful situations.

The few times I have called the hotel about loud guests, they seem to do nothing. They take a long time to respond and by the time they get there, the guests are quiet. From their point of view, the majority of calls they get are false alarms. Also, they don't get all the details. The receptionist probably just called security and asked them to check on the room. I doubt they were told that someone might be getting raped.

So are you saying the guest who placed the call was a crew member? Most the hotels I stay at crew members are not kept together. Even if they were, that shouldn't matter.
