Well, apparently our DH language is pretty bad, even when it seems crystal clear (as evidenced by our recent grievance loss).
Old contract.... new contract.... neither one had specific requirements for them to search out a flight with actual seats available in the proper class. One could and can still get stuck in coach if the good seats are sold out.
But, this Eurowings situation seems to have some nuances one would hope might work in our favor, but I can't say I feel too confident about that. We have CBA requirements for specific classes of service (namely business or first class). Obviously we gave the company some serious relief with the "lay flat seat" trumps all and meets any requirement for a higher class of service. Since these seats don't meet that, we are required to be in Business class or First class. Not, "Best" class on some Southwest wannbe Euro airline. There is no "Best" class in our CBA.
This camel's nose needs to get beat back from under the tent and we need to squash this BS before it becomes the norm.
