Absolutely untrue. Any pilot flying to put other pilots out of business by flying well below market rates, like NAI Captains flying for $10 per month, are 100% hurting all of us. Not much different than scabs really. Its the first thing we hear during contract negotiations when we talk about pay and work rules.
As you can see from my other post in here, I totally agree on the pay issue. That said, a scab is someone who crosses the picket line and performs struck work at a company where the workers are on a legal strike. Using the S word for other things will just devalue it.
Maybe we need a word for people who bring the industry down by accepting below standard rates at crappy companies (incrustation/blackleg anyone?) with no chance of improvement (Norwegian/skybus/any 36N cargo company/wow/wizz)
(and another for pilots trying to improve conditions at crappy companies (Ryanair/frontier/spirit) (nodergree/dui?))
