Yeah this is a real thing not sure you can do 6 months with an airline but im sure you could do some training towards it. It requires your Battalion Commanders approval and you have to be within 180 of terminal leave. You can to the police academy, I know thats a popular one, boarder patrol as well things like that. Since im hoping to be done with my flying by then for the RTP I wanted to spend three weeks and get my A&P for when I own my own plane. Should have done it back in my crew chief days prior to going flight.
