First I want to say congratulations to each of who have been selected & awaiting a class date. You've likely worked hard to get to this stage in your career. Second for those of you applying, try to relax and enjoy life while waiting on the call. You can easily be sidelined by the frustratingly long wait with the process here, I wish they'd fix it.
My 1 year anny is next month and I'm still glad I did it. Training was challenging... less than some and maybe more than others but there is help for those with a good attitude and who put forth the effort. The schoolhouse is nice and instructors are awesome. Flying the line is no different. I have yet to fly with anyone who wasn't an incredible human being in some way but mostly personality-wise. Real people. I've read/heard of the occasional contrary type but they must be pretty darn rare here.
This pre-contract environment is dragging on but nothing good comes without effort so I'm looking forward to some measurable gains for the pilot group. Whatever those gains are, they'll never compare to the Legacy terms but JetBlue is NOT one of those carriers and we have plenty of people leaving for them but most reasonable pilots choose their employer by looking at the big picture & not just the contract.
I was in recurrent recently and overheard that the quality of our applicants has taken a nosedive. We can speculate on the nature of a comment like that but for the most part those who come in the door, do so for some kind of good reason.
I'm happy to answer any questions from those who are applying if I can.
