I jump Eagle alot. Do yall do your wieght and balance like they do? They have what they call a "load room". It is an office where a person does all the weight and balance and coordinates with the gate agent. It takes the process out of the crew's hand. Since the ERJ's are wieght limited, I sometimes miss a ride.
I disagree with taking something that important out of the crews hand. We do our own where I work. We can do some things to get a jumpseater on. We will do what it takes to make sure they get a ride. We can do that because we do out own calculations. Out of the crews hand at Eagle though.
