CFI: 91 or 141?
I'm trying to decide between working at a part 91 flight school or a University. I'm 20 years old and want to be ready to go to the airlines within a year from now (by the time I turn 21 and become eligible.) I'm willing to put in the extra work and fly my ass off each month, so heres the breakdown. The part 91 School has primarily Skywest students who go through an accelerated program that gets the students from 0 hours to both Single and Multi Commercial ratings in 9 months. Uses Sport Cruisers, 172's, Tecnams, DA-40's, and Piper Arrow for their program. From my feel they have a good workload for students and actually have a back log of students. I haven't talked to any of the instructors on their hours per month. The Part 141 school (UVU) is comprised of Diamond aircraft. (DA-20, DA-40, DA-42) They work you hard and have the typical problems of a lot of universities flying the crap out of aircraft (break downs specifically their twins.) Anybody have any insight on either and what you'd recommend for my personal goals? Thanks in Advance to any and all answers.
