Certain passages/numbers are highlighted, and correspond to blanks in the "test" section. Is this test and associated blanks the exact same as on the start-of-ground-school test?

That's the test, filling in the blanks.
Obviously there's a systems test as well, which is why I recommend knowing the limitations/memory items one real well before you go so you can focus on systems.
