The only thing that will probably ever change this sentiment will be if/when a true socialist/democrat party were to take over and the “asset tax” starts to rear its head again (most forgot that during Clinton’s first term it was seriously proposed to help pay for people’s retirement who hadn’t had the opportunity to save) then everyone will be questioning why we allowed the 401Ks to get so large.
