New hire class drops are what remain after vacancy bids. Unfortunately, they don't drive anything.
That said, the same update suggested the possibility of a upcoming series of vacancy bids. That could be most helpful for anybody wishing to move bases.
Just remember the long-term planning committee meets three times a day.
I may be wrong but I think by June the last unfilleds from the last vacancy bids will be expired. They may have to put out a bid to get 40 spots.
