It just seems to be a checkers type move rather than a chess game considering many of the displaced folks could possibly have held A position in one of the newer aircraft on the way. This seems to put a significant burden on the training department and the folks being displaced considering that the next AE, may have positions they could have held without displacing to another aircraft of domicile. Is this flawed logic?
Anyway thanks for all the explanations...Cheers.
The 777 displacements have to happen. They are closing the category and the time will move to LAX and ATL.
The 88 displacements also have to happen as the airplane is starting to retire. IMHo the first 50 M88 captains were a gimme. The can’t hold captain anywhere else and likely will not be able too for over a year. Things get more complicated with the next batch of 88 captains but I think that will largely be canceled out with vacancies on the 320, 73, and C series. I also think they will finally post some vacancies on the 777, 330, and 765, enough to cancel out the remaining 777 displacements in DTW. So, stand by for another MOAB.....
