Comair did a lot of things that led them to being shut down. They made enemies of not just the company but also mainline pilots by not only demanding unreasonable terms for an integration (yes, Comair is the reason regionals even exist today) but requiring mainline pilots resign their seniority numbers when Delta was furloughing if they were going to go to Comair.
Never mind that times are completely different now than they were then, but you are free to have your fantasies.
