Greetings all.
I apologize for starting a new thread, but I could not find any current postings concerning what's acceptable regarding logging simulator time.
I am going through the new hire airmen certification process presentation and my question concerns one particular statement within the presentation. It says,
"In some cases simulator time may be used as a substitution for flight time requirements" - I have a SIC type that I did through FSI and I logged 26 hours total simulator time, but I did not log it as toward total time or duration of flight, only sim.
Based on the statement in the presentation, what simulator time are they specifically referring to? I know for sure that the simulator time provided in the ATP-CTP course and the type training can be used and logged as total time, so why can I not log my sim (Level C) towards total time?
There is a lot of misinformation out there about whether it can, or cannot be logged toward total time.
Thoughts?
Oh, the below link says one can log it toward total flight time. Some other sites, say not.
