1. I didn’t have two weeks between SIT and sims, it was flow right into them after oral. I spent every waking moment with my classmates after class studying and quizzing each other. You know what they didn’t have in our crew lounge until much later after they transitioned hotels? A paper tiger. There was one in there shortly after I left, and goJet had just installed a poor man’s paper tiger in the closet of the pilot lounge suite. You know what we were told when we asked about learning our flows and callouts? “Don’t worry about those now..MAYBE go ahead and go from cold dark to after start, but focus on systems and limitations for now.”
2. Get off your high horse. NeverHome comes out and says he had a similar experience that I had and your response is a “Oh, I’m so sorry you had that experience, it’s not that way anymore,” and I get called a liar and told I’m making excuses? You’re a class act, Keyboard Commando.
3. Rapid expansion? Who do you think you’re kidding? TSA can barely keep up with attrition. Everyone I knew when I was there laughed at the idea of getting a Hiring Goals bonus from the company. Now with you losing American next year, and possibly RDU and DCA, how exactly is that considered rapid expansion? You’re going to have pilots bailing left and right. Get real.
