Much worse! On I believe “Bloody Saturday” in 2009, XOJET terminated 23 pilots without warning 2 weeks before Christmas, who only found out when their Company iPhones and Corporate emails quit working. They were greeted by “security” at outstations who confiscated their Company property.
Some were even lied to and told when the word started getting out, “no, your fine... Just keep flying”, and then we’re fired when they finished up their legs for the day. These pilots have to now check YES to WERE YOU EVER TERMINATED? For the rest of their careers on online application forms and hope that they don’t get filtered out with accident, incidents, DUI’s, terminations, etc.
Terminations are much worse on a record than a furlough.
Yep I remember watching that unfold in horror.
