I was in new-hire training with the Union Pacific Railroad when after a few days one of the crafts went on strike. They stood at all the entrances to the rail yard and turned every one of us around when we showed up for class. Legally I don't think they could block the entrance, but after you rolled your window down and got an earful, you weren't about to keep going. It only lasted a day or two.
