That "50 city" story has been parroted by Dallas in one form or another for the last several years - it means nothing. Here is the latest iteration from Kelly at the shareholders meeting 2 days ago -
Southwest is eyeing a host of expansion opportunities within the next 25 years, with as many as 50 additional North and South American route expansions under consideration, Kelly told shareholders.
25 years????? That is absurd - and the first time a time frame has been included in that fairytale. Also, pay attention to his word choices - because they are important;

"as many as" "under consideration" - those statements mean nothing.
Also, he said "route expansions" - not cities. Yet another modification to the story from it's original form.
Kelly is the King at not saying anything - but will make you think he did. It's very important to read what he
doesn't say.
Having said all of that, I think you will likely see
some expansion like Proximity stated above, and possibly a few cities in Canada - but 50? No way.
