Middle aged career changer, CJO with AWAC for August. Live in Chicago. Married w/ 3 kids so insurance is a big deal (hence AW). Living in base is a big deal as well, so MKE/ORD was enticing. All that said, with the laughable TA that just came out, I keep going back to wondering if Envoy has better long term stability for me. I was also considering Republic until I learned they don't even make minimum guarantee until 31 days into training.

So, point being, Envoy vs Air Wisconsin for a family guy in Chicago, where would you go?

Thanks in advance.
lol, really? That was the difference maker? 30 days of $60 per diem per day then MMG? First of all, since the per diem isn't taxed it really isn't that much difference then MMG after taxed. Secondly you make back whatever you gave up in the first month quickly with higher hourly pay, higher per diem ($2.05), and better work rules.

If you want a reason to not go to Republic, a valid one may be that at this moment you will not hold ORD as a CA. But the first 30 days of training per diem is kind of a ridiculous reason to go somewhere where you will make ~$6-$9 less per hour as a first year FO.

btw, before you consider Envoy I would look over at their threads. Pilot group is not that happy with their reserve rules and other things like pay.
