I had that same issue. I think it installs just fine, but the indicator on the app store page says it's still installing when it's actually done.
Close the web browser, and open the app. Worked, but I did have to do it a couple of times, like you say, I was confused.
I also rebooted, windows trick on apple? And it seemed to work after that.
