When they do start to park the 756, they will chip away at the small 756 base’s(like DEN, LAX) flying first until there isn’t enough flying for that plane to remain economically viable at that base. Then it is closed in one displacement (like lax 777). I think a huge 756 base like EWR will be open for another 10-15 years. That plane serves UA well there with nothing to replace it on the horizon. In a larger 756 base they will do a few rounds of displacements and the junior pilots will be gone first. Junior pilots on it don’t have much bidding power so senior pilots wont voluntarily displace for many junior pilots. Who knows, all the Max’s we’re getting may whittle down EWR 756 pretty small by the time they decide to park the fleet. Still probably not for a long time.
EWR787 is opening this fall, 787-10’s are showing up along with more 789’s.

If I were a betting man, I’d expect to see a lot of that 756 flying in EWR moving over and those airplanes redeployed.
