Yep. You advance to the next year on the pay scale on day one of the month of your hire date. So if you were hired on 5/15, you start 2nd year pay on 5/1 of the next year, regardless of when you complete OE or start first year pay.
Also, OE times vary for every class. Some 76 guys have had the full four month experience, complete with a 2nd check ride. Other guys have finished OE the week after their type ride. But be prepared for four months of $1,600 plus perdiem, just in case.
