My career goals are simple. Stability (at least, as stable as the airline world can be), a work schedule that puts me home more days than not, and enough income for my wife to not have to work if she chooses to stay home. Spirit satisfies all of those goals. Everything else is ancillary.

More is great. But once you have enough, more is not the answer to happiness. I'll vote for contracts that increase our compensation and vote against contracts that compensate us less than our peers every day of the week. But at the end of the day, Spirit pays me enough to meet my family's needs. And that is where its connection with my personal happiness ends. Contentment is worth a lot.

(And that's why I would be a terrible negotiator )
