I disagree with the friendly face across the table notion. You can’t tell me the odds are in the favor of any given candidate to have the same recruiter at the job fair turn out to being the one doing their actual interview down the road.
I had this exact situation happen during my interview, and beyond that the interviewer remebered specifics from our job fair conversation. The odds are higher than you think, considering I spoke to 3 different recruiters on 3 different occasions. Add to that one of the other recruiters I spoke to at a different fair was also interviewing candidates that day. My odds of having previously met the person doing my interview were 100%.
