The only thing I can do to help our cause is leave. I’m pushing for that as hard as I ever was at the regionals. I’ve said it before; too many of us are hanging on here for a list of “if we get a contract” or “if we take delivery of aircraft”. It’s foolish to stake your career on “ifs”, especially when almost every other carrier has solid factors.
I’ve debated carefully as to whether I’d accept another position given the opportunity. There’s no question given the facts. Our pay, schedules, retirement, LTD, work rules, etc aren’t just substandard, they are an insult to every pilot on our list.
We have a mountain to climb yet to achieve a TA, and when we do I’m certain it’ll be another slap in the face. Update those resumes, attend those job fairs, ask for recs. Do whatever it takes to re-enter the status of your peers at other carriers. We all deserve better. Go get it.
