Are people still failing orals for not memorizing the entire IAC like it was when i was there 3 years ago? I fully agree that coming prepared to a training event should be expected of anyone but of these 50% failures, what percentage of those are for dumb stuff like that? No other carriers ask a lot of these dumb questions like awac still does. Yet the people I fly with at 9e, albeit sometimes kinda green are good qualified pilots that I’m comfortable letting them be at the controls. There needs to be standards but when you have a 50% washout rate and other places are around 10-20, and on top of that there is a staffing issue. You’d think a memo would go out telling people like JO to cool it with their ego trips.
