There is not a 50% failure rate. And the washout (newhire to signed off to the line) is 81% pass. Hope this clears it up. You do not memorize the whole IAC only the memory items. You need to show working knowledge of the rest.
Just out of curiousity does that 81% number include people that resign prior to a checkride failure occurring?
