I was going to post the same thing but I have been waiting to get some creditable info. I directly asked an assistant chief and a LCA who does the sims - both said it’s about 20% washout rate.

The misconception is when the pay day hotline comes out and has a high number of 27xxx numbers on the resignation list. People assume they are all training resignations.

They are not all failures/washouts. We are hiring 10-20% retired military pilots who are moving on once they get 300-500 hours of recent currency. We sent about 5 to Delta in the past 2 months alone. Plus the low 27xxx numbers have been on property 12-15 months. Those are not washouts. Even the mid 27xxx numbers are 7-10 months in. Even with extra sims, a check ride failure, retraining, second check ride and say 4-5 IOE trips and not able to get signed off- it would only take 6 - 7 months. So they may not be washouts either at this point.
