Probably the closest thing we have is the unionized VA system. In areas with political influence it works great- such as DC area. Other areas, not so hot. Success is not rewarded and bad health care professionals are almost impossible to fire, even if they are a “007” (license to kill). My wife has been trying to get rid of an incompetent OB/GYN who is so bad they don’t permit her to practice any more. She has spent the last two years sitting at home collecting $300k/year. To do nothing. Many examples. One in Kansas was really bad and they tried to fire him, but couldn’t until he threw gas on a nurse and lit her on fire. Then they fired him.
Military socialism:

-Free government health Care
-Free or highly subsidised tax free government housing
-Tax-free food allowance
-Free college
-Free job training
-Free job retraining
-Free government paid in-residence graduate and post-graduate education with no income loss
-(Officers) virtually guaranteed non-merit-based promotion and virtually guaranteed retirement regardless of performance
-Government health Care after retirement
-government funded job retraining after separation
-reduced rate government health Care for separated members
