This 100%. If you walked into a restaurant and the girl standing by the desk with the uniform on has headphones on and ignored you when you asked a question, you would probably complain to a manager. People get lost and confused in airports and the first person they look for is a pilot, because we are one of the most trusted people in an airport. If you blow them off because they are bothering you in your free time, you are doing a great disservice to yourself and your profession. If you don't want to be bothered, throw on something over your shirt.
Well said! I’m a commuter and don’t want to be bothered when I’m going to work or heading home. All it takes is tie off, light zip up jacket on and now I’m out of the public eye. When I’m in uniform, I can handle 5-10 minutes of airport walk time from the FPA to the gate without a phone or some form of entertainment.
