I’m a Captain and it has worked it’s way to the left seat as well. We are over staffed in both seats. That’s what I’m trying to say. This hiring is nothing more than changing Pilot behavior WRT the open time flying system. For every premium trip awarded there are at least three trips awarded at straight time in every base and every seat. We may be hiring for future grow, but there has been a fundamental change in manning that we’ve never had before. We are staffing a LCC like a Legacy carrier with one fleet type. That was never the business model WN was based on, and it devalues every Pilot’s earning potential both on property and future new hires as well.
